Don’t wait for a special occasion to pull out all the stops - a beautifully arranged platter of finger food can be eye-catching, tasty and healthy all-in-one! With smart ingredient choices, you can quickly put forward a plate (or two) for loved ones to tuck into on weekends away or at home, or during weekday mealtimes as a side or dessert.
Use waffle (ice cream) cones as a fruit basket by filling each one with strawberries, blueberries, grapes, peach slices and the like. Arrange your cones on a large plate by gently stacking one on top of the other so they don’t crush.
Colourful fruit kebabs work especially well as a substitute for sweets on a party table. Use wooden skewer sticks and fresh pieces of watermelon, pineapple, green and red grapes, kiwi and strawberries to make a treat that satisfies anyone’s sweet tooth!
Arrange pretzels on a baking tray and place a caramel toffee square on top of each one. Bake them in the oven on a low heat for about 3 minutes until the toffee is soft. Remove the tray and carefully top off each caramel pretzel with a chocolate sweet or nut. Pieces of Rolo and Bar-One and all kinds of nuts work well, but you can customise these yummy platter treats with anything you have in the pantry! You can even drizzle your pretzels with melted milk, dark or white chocolate...
